About Us

Our founder, Annie Brown, was first influenced by René Maurice Gattefossé
(French chemist, Father of Aromatherapy and creator of this word).

He discovered the healing properties of herbs and flowers. This inspired Annie to qualify as an Aromatherapist.

With this new found knowledge, she was inspired to create her first Baby Bump Oil 22. This oil represents our ethos, it is made using the finest natural ingredients, it is sustainable and has been sourced locally in Kent, UK. We forever aim to make this our standard when thinking about new product ideas.

Why we choose to use Miron Violet glass bottle and jar?

It’s more than just glass packaging.

Sunlight is recognized as one of the most important resources on earth. Sunlight is required for all living things: plant, animal, and human. However, sunlight can also have a degrading effect. If a natural product - upon reaching maturity - continues to be exposed to full sunlight, there follows an acceleration of molecular decay. Miron violetglass’ unique characteristics filter out these more damaging rays of the visible light spectrum, and allows portions of the UVA and infrared light waves in, keeping the products inside fresher for a longer period of time.

The small amount of visible violet light that is allowed in gives the glass it’s beautiful dark violet colour. This special protective qualities of violet glass can be traced to Ancient Egyptian culture. In those times, valuable essences (oils) and natural healing products were kept either in gold or in violet glass vessels.

These delicate products had to be created as well as stored in dark violet glass. Violet colour creates a positive feeling of peace, harmony and well-being, as well as wisdom and creativity. In colour therapy, violet is the colour of the Crown Chakra (self realisation, enlightenment), and connotes wisdom, honour and hope.

Further, according to eastern traditions, the colour violet represents the harmony of the universe as it is a combination of red and blue (Yin and Yang). Yang is solar energy – outgoing and free while Yin is incoming – stored energy and matter.

Annie Brown Products are stored in Miron Violet glass to keep their distinctive qualities for extended periods of time, sometimes even for years.
